A charity Masquerade Ball for the Children's Respite Trust raises £25,026 for the Children's Respite Trust in Sussex

Thank you so much to everyone who attended the Children’s Respite Trust Masquerade Ball at the Cavendish Hotel in Eastbourne on Saturday night. We’re delighted to announce that the grand total raised was a phenomenal £25,026!!!

The Entertaiment

Guests arrived to a drinks reception while a quartet from Sussex Strings entertained along with stilt-walkers from Acting Moon.

A stunning banqueting hall awaited where guests enjoyed a performance from the Brighton Panthers. We followed this with heads and tails to win prosecco donated by MW Solicitors and a beautiful piece of Swarovski jewellery from W Bruford.

After a three course dinner came the Charity’s famous balloon raffle. Prizes included a Choccywocky Doodah Experience and a 65” Flat Screen TV. The room was a sea of balloons before Twisted Nymph’s balloon performance was the cue for everyone to burst their balloons.

Guests heard from the Trust’s Caseworker Claire Beebee, who told them all about the Trust’s work before auction-master Con Cronin took bids on a fabulous holiday in Tallin and a couple of days away in an Audi to a castle in the West Country kindly donated by Eastbourne Audi. Other auction prizes included a trip to see the Northern Lights, a dress from POSH in Eastbourne with make-up kindly provided by Make-up by JC and a photoshoot with Signature Studios, a pampering for two at Scarletts Beauty Rooms, a murder mystery night and a meal in your home with a professional cook kindly donated by Food for Comfort.

Throughout the evening, compere Duff Eynon invited guests to take part in a silent auction. Among the prizes were a signed Sussex cricket bat from Yes Promo Products, a clay Pigeon shooting lesson from Stumbletts Gun Club and a stay at the Brighton Hilton Metropole with three course dinner at Terre a Terre and trip to the Royal Pavilion.

The night ended with guests playing on the casino and packing the dance floor to the tunes of Double Tap.
