Eastbourne Rotary Clubs Bring a Little Light to the Town

Children's Respite Trust Charity for disabled children in Sussex, Kent from Sevenoaks to Eastbourne

Nigel Greaves, President of Eastbourne Rotary Club, presented a cheque for £1,500 to Children’s Respite Trust Ambassador, Helen Blaney, this week following the town’s Tree of Light celebrations at Christmas time.

The presentations took place at Brewers Showroom in Birch Road, where five cheques were handed out to local causes from Eastbourne’s five Rotary Clubs: Eastbourne, Eastbourne AM, Eastbourne Sovereign, Eastbourne Sovereign Harbour and Beachy Head. The Club’s were jointly responsible for the fundraising.

Upon receiving the cheque, Mrs Blaney explained how the money would be put to good use for the benefit of local children with disabilities and their families.

The Trust would like to extend its thanks to all of the Eastbourne Rotary Clubs and the public who kindly donated while taking part in the Tree of Light ceremony where people can dedicate a light to a loved one and write in a book of remembrance.
