Who We Help

All Stars 13-18

The All Stars programme at the Children's Respite Trust is designed for teenagers, empowering them to foster independence, build essential life skills, and enjoy enriching experiences in a supportive environment.

Supporting Teens to Shine

Unlike our Superstars programme, which focuses on younger children, All Stars acknowledges the unique needs and aspirations of teenagers. Here, participants are treated as young people, not children, with a focus on providing opportunities that align with their age group and interests. We aim to go beyond perceived limitations, encouraging teens to access activities their peers might typically enjoy, regardless of their disabilities. Our dedicated team understands the importance of balancing support with encouragement, giving teens the freedom to grow while ensuring they feel safe and empowered.

At the Trust, we understand that a young person’s age may not always reflect their expected interests or development stage. We fully support families who feel their child would be more comfortable remaining in the Superstars group into their early teenage years. Our goal is to provide the right environment for every young person to thrive.

What Makes All Stars Special

  • Promoting Independence: Activities such as trips to coffee shops, the gym and other local attractions enable teens to gain confidence in navigating everyday situations.
  • Fostering Social Skills: Group activities and outings encourage friendships and teach valuable communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Tailored Experiences: Activities are adapted to individual needs and interests, ensuring everyone feels included and valued.
  • Empowering Self-Expression: Using communication aids and creative approaches, we help teens connect meaningfully with others and express themselves confidently.

Current Availability

Our All Stars group is currently at full capacity. However, as participants transition out of the programme due to the age limit, spaces can become available more frequently than in other services.

If you would like to express your interest, please visit our Referrals Page to review our criteria and get in touch. Your details will be kept on file, and we will contact you if a suitable space becomes available, subject to our waitlist.
