Ways to Support Us

At School

Being a children’s charity means that a really important and valued partnership for us is being involved with local schools.

Spreading Awareness

We love to spread awareness of the needs of disabled children while teaching tolerance and understanding amongst peers. Support from schools and children’s groups helps provide vital respite care locally while also promoting diversity awareness and inclusive learning.

Fundraising

Your school could help by fundraising for the Children’s Respite Trust, so that we are able to continue our work with disabled children and their families throughout Sussex. There are lots of fantastic ways to encourage children to get involved.

Examples include:
  • Bake sales
  • School projects
  • Mufti days
  • Raffles
  • Anything you fancy, get in touch to discuss your ideas.

Educational Visits

Your school could help the Children’s Respite Trust by inviting us to give a talk to help spread awareness of the needs of disabled children and their families. We want to help educate children about what it means to be disabled or to have a family member with a disability. We are also passionate about sharing the strengths of people with additional needs and sharing the understanding of that with young people.

If you feel that your school may be able to help the Trust in some way, or you have an opportunity for one of our enthusiastic Ambassadors or team members to come and give a talk then please get in touch.

No family should be left to care for a disabled child alone. Help us to continue providing support for families that need it most.
