About the Siblings Club
At the Children’s Respite Trust, we look after the whole family, and the siblings are no exception! We understand that having a sibling with a disability brings unique challenges and responsibilities. That’s why our Club is a time for the siblings to shine and be themselves.
Siblings of disabled children may sometimes feel isolated or overlooked, even though this is never intentional. In some cases, they may also take on the role of young carers, shouldering additional responsibilities. Our Siblings Club is about alleviating any stresses or worries they have, even for a few hours. Having time to bond with other children who are in similar positions to them is really important, and allows them to feel less alone. The Siblings report walking away feeling happier and lighter after each session.
