Part-time Centre Manager – Uckfield – £25,000 pro-rata.
The Children’s Respite Trust is looking for a Manager to help us launch and run a day-care service at our new respite centre for disabled children in Uckfield, East Sussex.
We have a small setting and aim to have around six children at a time, beginning with children with learning disabilities before accommodating those with more significant physical disabilities in the future. Our aim is to be needs-led and so the development of the service is flexible.
This is an opportunity to help shape a new service while having the support of a wider organisation. You get to run the childcare sessions, while someone else sorts out the finances. You’ll still need to be involved in the compliance and regulatory side, but not have to worry about looking after the building. Ultimately, we want someone to focus on ensuring that we can provide the best care possible for the children.
Salary and Hours:
This part-time role is £25,000 pro-rata and is expected to average three days a week, but ideally we are looking for someone who can be flexible and increase their hours in school holiday times when the service is in greater demand and lessen it at other times. We aim to be flexible though – so please apply anyway!
You will need at least a level three qualification in childcare and a willingness to work towards level five. Ultimately, we will want you to work towards a health and social care qualification too, as we move from Ofsted registration to Care Quality Commission.
Clearly, you need to have worked in a childcare environment, but some SEN experience is vital too.
For all jobs advertoised, please send in your CV and covering letter to firstname.lastname@example.org or call Gavin Fisher on 01825 817417 for an informal chat. A job description and person specification is available at www.crtcharity.org/jobdescriptions.
Carers – East Sussex – circa £10 per hour.
The Children’s Respite Trust is assisting several families to recruit carers at present.
Generally we are looking for people with some child-care experience. Preferably, someone with special educational needs children and who are able to dedicate just a few hours a week. It can be as little as two hours a week in some cases, more in others or you may wish to work with more than one family.
Hours are different for each family, but we find that help is especially needed in school holidays.
Bags of energy and enthusiasm are a must.
Training in paediatric 1st aid, safeguarding and lone-working will be provided, as well as condition-specific training where necessary. You will need a driving licence and car for local trips and activities and A DBS check will be carried out for the successful candidate or candidates.
To apply, please send a CV to email@example.com.
Carers Required – Ringmer – Filled
The Children’s Respite Trust is assisting a family in Ringmer to recruit two carers for a one-off short-term jobs (20 hours in total).
The role is to provide support for a 17 year-old boy with severe autism from the hours of 10.30am to 3.30pm in June 2017.
Due to an occupational requirement one of the two jobs is for a male carer only.
The successful candidates will have child-care experience, preferably some special-needs experience and a child-care qualification would be an advantage. The Children’s Respite Trust will provide a DBS check, if you do not possess a portable DBS already.
One of the two post-holders will need to hold a current driving license and use of a vehicle, as the young person in question enjoys going for a drive each day and maintaining his routine is important. All costs for this including any additional insurance, will be covered. The young person can present some challenging behaviours although he’s a wonderfully natured boy when occupied by an activity that he enjoys.
Given the urgency and nature of these appointments, generous rates are being offered. Please call 01435 205004 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
