Support WorkerOne of our holiday play sessions.

The Children’s Respite Trust is looking for an extraordinary individual to join our team.

We are seeking a kind, empathetic and professional individual to help support our families and who embodies our values. As a Support-Worker with the Trust you will work largely in the community within the family’s homes, and on occasion in our Centre in Uckfield. During term time you will be working predominately after school but in the school holiday, hours are more flexible with the potential for weekend work. By taking this role you will be making a huge difference to our children who have a range of disabilities and needs along with their families.

The successful candidate should have experience of working with children/young people with complex needs, including Autism, sensory needs and physical disabilities. However, we provide full training from day one to allow experienced care workers and those new to the role to flourish and develop a worthwhile career. You will be required to have your own means of transport due to being out in the community, along with the right attitude and desire to learn. It is essential that you share our belief that no family should be left to care for a disabled child alone.

Applicants should have at least completed a recognised level 2 Childcare or Health and Social Care qualification or have relevant experience. The post holder will need to complete a DBS check.
