A Gift from the Angels

An incredible evening at the very first Angels’ Den Sussex!

We are absolutely delighted to share that the Children’s Respite Trust was among just 10 charities selected from more than 120 applicants to pitch at this inspiring event, hosted by the wonderful Focus Foundation at the Brighton i360.

In one remarkable night, £100,000 was donated to support local charities — thanks to the generosity of the Angels, each personally contributing £10,000. We are truly grateful to have received £17,500 from the Angels, as well as an additional £13,440 through the public vote, made possible by ticket donations from the i360 and matched funding from The Pebble Trust and the Focus Foundation.

The charities pitched “Dragons Den Style” for a share of the funds and the Children’s Respite Trust’s proposed a project to create an additional space for the Trust called the Sanctuary, which will have a particular emphasis on being a calming environment for the children and families.

We are so proud to have stood alongside such passionate and impactful organisations — including Pelican Parcels, Grassroots Suicide Prevention, MindOut, Springboard, Sussex Nightstop, The Real Junk Food Project, Wolo, TLC, and our congratulations go to Brighton Table Tennis Club, the well-deserved top prize winners.

Our sincere thanks go to the Focus Foundation, i360, Pebble Trust, the Angels — Chris Goodman, Sarah Willingham, Robert Starr MBE, Nazila Blencowe, and Martin Gallagher — and everyone who helped make the evening such a success.
