There was a real buzz in the village of Isfield over the Easter bank holiday as The Laughing Fish welcomed families, friends and a few brave competitors for a day of fun in support of the Children’s Respite Trust.
Gavin and Rachel from the Trust were invited along to help with the activities and share about the impact of our work supporting children with disabilities and their families.
We are pleased to share that CRT was chosen to benefit from the proceeds of the children’s Easter Egg hunt, Lemonade Race and the adult Beer Race raising an amazing £316.76.
Approximately 30 children took part in the Easter Egg hunt, searching for eggs around the pub garden closely followed by a lemonade race in the village, the winner being the one to bring back the most lemonade. A little later in the day approximately 60 adults participated in the annual Beer Race, taking their pint of beer to the Mill and back. Congratulations to all of the winners and their fellow participants.
The festivities were rounded off with performances by the Ashdown Forest Morris Men, who jingled their way through the afternoon while collecting donations for the Trust.
Thank you to everyone who attended, purchased cakes and biscuits and took part in the Lucky Dip. A special thank you goes to Mike, Bella and Andy from The Laughing Fish for their warm hospitality and support.
