Running for a Cause: Local Heroes Raise Vital Funds for the Children’s Respite Trust

Three dedicated fundraisers have gone the extra mile—literally—to support the Children’s Respite Trust, raising over £2,000 by taking part in some of the UK’s most exciting running events.

Amber Parker-Reid kicked off this remarkable effort by participating in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, where she raised a fantastic £630 for the charity. The event, which weaves runners through the heart of the capital past iconic sites, was the perfect backdrop for Amber’s determination and community spirit. Her efforts will go a long way in supporting the Trust’s vital work with disabled children and their families.

Meanwhile, Hannah McNeil took on the challenge of the Brighton Marathon, one of the UK’s most popular long-distance races. With dedication and perseverance, she not only completed the marathon but also raised an impressive £355. Her contribution will help ensure more families receive the support and respite care they need.

Rounding out this trio of fundraising champions is Graham Brooker, who completed the Eastbourne Half Marathon in style. Through his efforts, Graham raised a phenomenal £1,045, making a substantial impact on the charity’s ability to provide vital services across the region.

The Children’s Respite Trust expressed heartfelt thanks to all three runners. The total raised will make a significant difference in the lives of the children the charity supports. Events like these not only help raise essential funds but also increase awareness of the Trust’s mission—to offer care, support, and respite to families facing extraordinary challenges.
