On Friday 22nd August, the Children’s Respite Trust welcomed families to our Summer Picnic in the beautiful grounds of the East Sussex National. The afternoon was filled with sunshine, games, and the chance for families to spend quality time together.
Children enjoyed running around and taking part in activities, with siblings able to play alongside each other in a safe and supportive space. Parents were grateful for the opportunity to catch up with staff and other families – and even enjoy a rare hot cup of tea while our team were on hand to help.
There was plenty of fun throughout the afternoon, from ball games to our Guess the Bear’s Name competition, which saw Rupert the bear find a new home with one very happy child. One moment that had everyone smiling was when a little one decided to share his snacks with the statues.
It was also wonderful to welcome some new families who will soon be joining Little Stars, helping them feel part of the CRT community from the very beginning.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Beth and the East Sussex National for generously allowing us the use of the space, helping to make such a relaxed and enjoyable day possible for all our families.
