Team conquer the Three Peaks Challenge 2025

Three Peaks Challenge 2025: An Incredible Effort for Children’s Respite Trust

Over one extraordinary weekend, our incredible team of supporters took on the iconic Three Peaks Challenge, climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales!

Taking part in the challenge were Steve, Lucy, Adam and Trudi, along with Gavin and Rachel from the Children’s Respite Trust team – each one of them showing phenomenal determination, teamwork and resilience.

Day 1 – Ben Nevis, Scotland (1,345m)
The team kicked off the challenge in scorching heat in Fort William, tackling the highest of the three peaks: Ben Nevis. At 1,345m and a distance of 16.5km, it’s no easy feat especially in such hot conditions. Despite the tough climb, the views were absolutely breathtaking, with clear skies and no snow in sight. The team were even rewarded with a view from the summit – a rare treat on Ben Nevis!

After completing the first leg in approximately 6 hours, they began the long journey to the Lake District for peak number two.

Day 2 – Scafell Pike, England (978m)
Day two brought more heat, though some welcome showers later in the day gave brief relief. The rocky terrain of Scafell Pike makes it one of the most technically challenging of the three climbs, especially on tired legs. At just over 9km, the climb and descent were a real test of endurance. A huge well done to the team for persevering through hot weather and aching muscles.

With two peaks down, they pressed on to Wales for the final climb.

Day 3 – Mount Snowdon, Wales (1,085m)
Snowdon brought the most dramatic weather of the challenge, with the climb starting in cloud before turning to rain, hail and high winds. Spirits remained high though, and the team made it to the summit where they took a quick break in the café.

After a wet and windy descent, the team completed Snowdon in under 5 hours, officially finishing the 2025 Three Peaks Challenge.

A Huge Thank You
We are incredibly proud of Steve, Lucy, Adam, Trudi, Gavin and Rachel for their grit and determination in completing this tough challenge. So far, they’ve raised an amazing £3,766 for the Children’s Respite Trust, helping us support families across Sussex with the care and breaks they need.
