Dynamic Duo Brave 13.1 Miles to Support Vulnerable Children

Westley and Baz took on London Landmarks Half Marathon

Amidst the iconic landmarks of London, Westley Waller and Baz Firth, two dedicated supporters of the Children’s Respite Trust, laced up their running shoes and embarked on a monumental journey – the London Landmarks Half Marathon. Full of determination and a commitment to making a difference, they set out to conquer the 13.1-mile course, all in the name of CRT.

For Westley and Baz, this was more than just a race; it was an opportunity to raise vital funds and awareness for the Children’s Respite Trust. The pair have trained incredibly hard for this challenge and stated on their JustGiving page that they are ‘determined to go the distance as they know that their short-term pain will result in a long-term gain for those in need’.

The London Landmarks Half Marathon is renowned for its breath-taking route, taking participants past some of the city’s most iconic sights, including Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and the London Eye. As they navigated the course, they drew inspiration from the resilience of the children and families they were supporting, fuelling their determination to push through every mile.

Speaking after the race, Westley expressed his gratitude to everyone who had supported their fundraising efforts, saying, ” Thank you for all of your kind donations for the Children’s Respite Trust.”  Baz Firth echoed his sentiments, adding, ” The other entrants were all amazing, lots of high fives from complete strangers on and off the course who spent their hard earned Sunday off to come out and cheer us on.”

Their participation in the London Landmarks Half Marathon is just one example of the incredible dedication and generosity shown by supporters of the Children’s Respite Trust. Through their actions, Westley and Baz have not only raised vital funds but also helped to raise awareness of the important work being done to support vulnerable children and their families. We are so grateful for their effort on the course and for raising over £1,600 for the Trust via their JustGiving page.
